Coconut Jelly ; Desserts

Found something great to cool down myself on a hot sunny day. I found this stall sometime back after my breakfast at Kheng Pin Cafe. I had some lor bak that day and it caused dryness to my throat. My throat felt so uneasy that I were thinking to get lor han guo drink at Cecil Street Market to sooth my throat.

On our way to Cecil Street Market, we passed by this stall and I got attracted by the fridge that stood outside this stall. Penang Coconut Jelly – this is what attracted me. Coconut drink is a great way to cool down the heat. Coconut + jelly would be so cooling and refreshing.

The coconut jelly is nicely stacked and store in a fridge to maintain the freshness. As there’s no preservatives added, this coconut jelly can only last for maximum 4 days.

There are 2 ways to consume this coconut jelly. First is you can use a spoon to scoop the jelly out from the coconut. The jelly soothes my throat when it run downs my throat. The jelly is so soft and smooth with just the right amount of coconut scent in it. It’s so refreshing. The jelly tasted just right, not too sweet.

Another way to consume this coconut jelly is by using a straw and suck the coconut jelly out of it. I learned this from Big Boys Oven. The feeling of the cool jelly rushing through my throat is addictive. And the cooling effect then soon will attack my nostril and brain. It’s definitely cooling! Becareful that you don’t suck it too fast, else you’ll get brain freeze. :P

This stall is located at Jalan Dato Keramat. It’s very easy to miss this stall. But you can always locate a 4D Sports Toto shop. It’s just located next to it.

Besides coconut jelly, you can opt for fresh coconut juice too.
