Penang Seafood | Tree Shade Seafood Restaurant @ Weld Quay

“The food serving is even faster than any fast food restaurant”, this is what my friend HP told me when we talked about this restaurant. The serving time is comparable to Ghee Seng Tomyam Seafood which is located at the same area too.

Some crackers are served as appetizers.

A small bowl of curry to dip the crackers. The crackers are not oily and fragrant.

Stir fried water convolvulus with belacan. The vege was stir fried for perfect timing which resulted in crunchy texture of the vege. The only drawback is this dish is too salty. I guess it’s due to the over loaded of sambal belacan.

Pai Kut Ong – a generous portion of big and thick slices of pork. The pork slices are well marinated. Thumbs up for this dish lor!

The meat was tender and soft. Yummy… I hope they are able to maintain the pai kut ong quality as the pai kut ong I had at Sin Hai Beng Seafood was not consistent.

Curry fish – There’s one big slice of thick fish meat served in a claypot. The curry was thick and fragrant with spices. The fish was fresh.

The seafood spread where you can pick your choice. Prawns, fish, mantis prawns, clams, etc… look so fresh!

More ingredients.

I love this place! Quick, easy, and love the poppadums they serve as starter! The first time I went there, I got too excited and carried away though, a meal for 2 pax came up to an uncharacteristic RM70!! I guess we shouldn’t have ordered the mantis prawns!

    J2Kfm,
It cost us ~ RM20+ but < RM25, i forgot the exact figure. The serving portion for all 3 dishes were quite generous.

yummy, this is the place that I love to visit. Is cheap, fast and good. The cook is called 3 handed, cause he really fast like you can see 3 arms on him. The lady boss, Ah See is very nice lady. She always like to joke with me and I remember got 1 time her assistant accidentally pour the dishes on my shirt and she give me free meal :)
