What do you normally get for tempura that comes together with your bento set? I got a tempura fish, 2 tempura prawns and some tempura vege, not forgetting enoki mushroom too.

The teriyaki chicken tasted normal compared to the dishes that we had that night

Chawan mushi, one of my favourite ! It’s silky smooth and rich with ingredients. The chawan mushi remain warm even after long exposure to the environment due to my photography.

The mackerel fish might get a bias review here due to I’m comparing it with the salmon belly that I had at the same day. The mackerel fish texture tasted tad coarse and salty.

Salmon Harami Steak - it’s grilled salmon belly with only the slightest amount of salt to maintain the most original flavour of the fish. Salmon belly contain more fats compare to other parts of salmon. There’s much oil left on the serving plate even there’s no oil added during the grilling. Please take note of this as maybe you can’t stand the fats in it.

The salmon belly is grilled to perfection which left a thin crunchy skin covering the smooth, tender and juicy meat.

The person in charge recommended Cream Cheese Oyster saying that it’s a popular dish in Ryoma. Half dozen of oyster just for 2 of us. Would it be a little too much? Oh yes.. it’s definitely is when the topping is cream cheese.

The cream cheese overpowered the oyster taste. But I like the sauce which laid underneath the cheese layer. It tasted like mayonaise with bits of crabsticks. Just a few drops of Tobasco sauce will do the trick to reduce the ‘cheeziness’.

The photo color looks a bit weird, but the angle is pretty nice. What kind of lighting is in there?

Jason,
The restaurant is lighted with yellow lighting. I tried my best to adjust my white balance but seems like i’m not doing a good job

This is definitely not a ‘cheap’ restaurant. Remember my RM500 Ryoma post? http://cariso-food.blogspot.com/2008/10/ryoma-japanese-restaurant-part-2.html.

Modo Alimentare,
Yea. It’s pretty seldom to get cheese oyster in a Jap Restaurant, but the PIC strongly recommend it to us, so we ordered it
