Genting Coffee Shop chee cheung fun (ccf) is so famous for its peanut flavour prawn paste sauce. Although I’ve been blogging for more than 1 year, I’ve yet to post about this ccf. Finally I’ve got my feet to Genting Coffee Shop.
The ccf stall was swarming with people. We’ve overheard the owner of the stall saying that if we would want the ccf fast, it’s better to get the ccf ourselves. Means self service.

The peanut butter sauce blended so well with the prawn paste. The fragrant of peanut butter sauce is just adequate, not too strong, not too mild. Dip into some chili sauce, it’s just perfect.

The muar chee here taste very good too. It should have some fried shallots as topping, but I omitted it as I don’t eat shallots. The muar chee texture is so soft and it’s still warm. The grounded peanuts plus sugar go with the muar chee is just perfect!

The only drawback of the day that we had is the sambal koay teow. From the picture, I guess you already can judge the taste rite?
The sauce tasted so bland and there’s no omph in the sambal. Totally can’t compare to the one I had at Mt. Erskine.

My first intro to Penang CCF was in 1988 at Kek Seng. I kind of acquired it through the years. The har ko version has turned from ‘horrendous’ to ‘tremendous’.

This CCF has just got me drooling and daydreaming at work!! But I agree with Lingzie… have to tell them go easy on the sauce or serve it on the side, otherwise, it brings on the cavities!!
