The Sire Museum Restaurant

If recently anyone ask me, “Which place would you recommend for a romantic dinner?”, I’d definitely suggest The Sire Museum Restaurant. Are you getting any confuse; is it a museum or a restaurant? It’s both actually.

The Sire Museum Restaurant is previously the house of Yeap Chor Ee. His grandson ‘transformed’ his house into a museum based restaurant to commemorate Yeap Chor Ee’s birthday. The restaurant has a very cosy and romantic environment. The moment I entered this restaurant, I’ve fallen in luv with it. It was warmly lighted with soft music playing in the background.

As we were being seated at the inner part of the restaurant, I noticed that there is another hall which lead to the museum. The museum of peranakan (baba & nyonya). In the museum, there are a series of facts on how Mr. Yeap Chor Ee begin his career. It was very inspiring! There are a lot more things to be seen in the museum, guess you’ll enjoy it more if you find if out yourself then I describing it here. :)

We were served with nicely baked baguette. It’s crispy and tasted cheesy. I like it!

Wild Mushroom Soup (RM 15.80) served with rich cream and rye bread. The mushroom soup is thick and fragrant. I’d be more happy if the rye bread can be exchange with the toasted baguette. :P

Tenderloin Medallions (RM 49.80) was ordered medium well. The steak is juicy but not the best that I’ve tasted.

Hmm my one and only experience at the Sire was really so unremarkable that I’ve had to read every other review with raised eyebrows. Then again, my visit was almost 2 years ago so perhaps it’s time for me to give it another go!

Seriously, this place holds promise. For a fine dining affair that is not too exorbitant. But judging from the several negative remarks, doubtful eh ….
