OMG~ I just found out that the Grilled Chicken Wings and Cuttlefish & Water Convolvulus (Yau Yu Ong Choi) at New Lane tasted so good leh! I’ve had my dinner there for so many times and I never know that. I’m soo not qualified to be a food blogger huh?

Just look at the shiny, perfectly grilled chicken wings. The Honey Grilled Chicken Wing tasted great with tender meat and sweet taste. Not too sweet and very fragrant.

The Beef Koay Teow Soup got my friend’s vote but I still prefer the one located opposite the fire station at Chulia Street.

This one tasted similar to the night stall at Sg. Nibong area. Soup base is less creamy but fragrant enough.

The Cuttlefish & Water Convolvulus (Yau Yu Ong Choi) is the best I’ve tasted at Penang so far. I am originated from center part of Malaysia which the yau yu ong choi don’t have any prawn paste in it. When I was first at Penang, I totally not able to accept that prawn paste is mix into chee cheung fun and yau yu ong choi. But as I stayed longer here, I begin to like it!

What I love about this yau yu ong choi is there are 3 types of sauce in it; chili sauce, prawn paste and sweet sauce. It gives the dish a sweet, spicy and fragrant flavour.

The char koay teow that we ordered tasted normal only. Tad oily and less flavouful. I guess we ordered the wrong stall ya.

New Lane is busy street at night which is quite a popular spot for tourist too.

Kulim is no longer a strange place to me when I joined my current company. It’s not that I’ve to be stationed at Kulim, but I’ve to travel there regularly. Recently, there’s a new shopping mall which is Giant (Kulim Landmark Central). A few new eating outlets opened at the Kulim Landmark Central which makes the lunch choices at Kulim a little more variety and not too boring.

Noodle Station is one of the few eating outlets at Giant. Thanks to Cariso, for inviting me to try out some dishes there.

This banner definitely attracted my attention as I’m an ice cream lover!

Noodle Station offers a wide variety of drinks from ice blended coffee drinks, hot drinks, ice tea drink, sorbets and non-coffee drinks.

Starting from top left is Iced Cream Cappuccino, Ice Age, Iced Teh Tarik and Au Natural (in clockwise direction). My favourite would be Iced Cream Cappuccino which is rich in coffee taste and Ice Age which tasted fruity and rich in blackcurrant taste.

After Dinner Mint Cappuccino, Teh Tarik Hazelnut and Mocha Ice Blended. Teh Tarik Hazelnut has a rich aroma of hazelnut.

Here comes the sorbet drinks and soda drinks. Starting from top left in clockwise direction is Sunrise, Angel Face, Raspberry Truffle Italian Soda, I Love You Lemonade, Mango Sorbet, Kiwi Sorbet & Mango Snow.

My favourite would be Sunrise which is blended from mango juice, orange juice and strawberry yogurt blended. It taste very fruity and not too sweet, not too creamy.

Mango Sorbet and mango snow has heavy mango taste and tad sweet. Comparing both is mango sorbet will have more cocktail fruits in it.

Curry Springy Noodle with prawn & fish ball. This one tasted okay just that the soup base is slightly saltier.

I was craving for the frog porridge at Sin Geylang. But unfortunately when we arrived, the shop was closed. Oops… it’s Wednesday. The shop is closed that day. Too bad. Since we were already very hungry, we just stopped by somewhere near to grab something to fill our stomach.

Sin Kim San Coffee shop where the delicious Top Taste hokkien mee is being served in the morning, is serving a wide variety of hawker food at night. We are spoilt by too many choices of hawker food available. Ended up, no idea what to order.

My bf ordered a bowl of koay teow teng. Soup base is clear with average sweetness. The fish ball has springy texture, the way I like my fishball to be.

If I recall my memory correctly, someone left a comment in my blog recommended the BBQ chicken wing at this coffee shop. There are 2 stalls selling BBQ chicken wing. Wondering which is the good one, we were considering which stall shall we choose. Later on, we noticed that there’s one only stall selling, another stall is just starting to burn up the charcoal. So, we were just left with one and only choice.

The BBQ chicken wing looks nice with shinning skin, thanks to honey and perfect timing of BBQ. The meat is well marinated and outer layer tasted sweet but my bf complained that its inner part was not hot enough. Just like it had been took out from the fire for quite sometime. That’s the only drawback of it.

The chee cheung fun is floaded with prawn paste which is too much to my liking. But my bf said it’s nice. The chili with dried shrimp was good. Perfect to go with the bland ccf.

This emporer card board attracted my attention. I was attracted by the ‘fried emperor noodle‘ which was translated into ‘fried egg noodle’ in English.

When the noodle was served, I felt pretty satisfy as there are lots of side ingredients accompanying the noodle. The crab tofu is ‘planted’ on a crab shell and the ‘tofu’ part is made up of crabstick, minced meat and flour. It tasted quite good. There are a few pieces of fried chicken with well marinated meat. But the salad accompanying the noodle seems like don’t really match the noodle. The noodle itself has a crunchy texture.

It’s something new which worth trying.
